Five Fun Seattle Fundraisers You’ll Want To Participate In

While fundraising events are all about raising money for a good cause, that doesn’t mean they can’t still be fun. Seattle exemplifies such a thought through countless fundraisers that are more than just bearable…they’re actually enjoyable. As testament to this fact, here are five fundraisers in Seattle where donating to charity and endless enjoyment occur at the same time:

Cliff Avril 4th Annual Dining to Make a Difference

If you don’t know, Cliff Avril is one of the Seattle Seahawks’ most prominent defensive ends – with pro-bowler status to back it up. As such, he created the Cliff Avril Family Foundation in 2014 to raise awareness about Type 2 diabetes and healthy eating.

At his annual charity fundraiser, you will enjoy a delicious feast of entrees and some world-class servers. That’s right – last year some of the front of house staff included Richard ShermanMichael BennettKam Chancellor, and Russell Wilson. Not only will an onslaught of pro ballers be waiting on you, but they’ll be swapping out their jerseys for aprons and cooking a delicious meal for you, too. What could be more fun (especially for any NFL-lover) than the chance to hang out with some of the best talent in the league over dinner?

In Concert for Cancer

For the sixth year, In Concert for Cancer – a community concert benefit graced by acclaimed musicians – “offers hope to cancer patients, survivors, family members, and caregivers while raising awareness and funding for ground-breaking, life-saving cancer immunotherapy treatment and research.” This year will be just as special as any previous year, thanks to In Concert for Cancer’s featured artist, Judith Hill. Judith Hill released her debut album, “Back In Time” with production assistance from the one and only Prince. She has backed legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder and the late Michael Jackson. Her story is even featured in the Academy Award winning documentary “20 Feet from Stardom”, discussing the lives of some of the 21st century’s best backup singers.

Any music lover would be remiss to miss Judith Hill on this special night, especially as 100 percent of the proceeds from her concert will go directly to support pediatric cancer initiatives at Seattle Children’s Research Institute.

Seven Summit Soirée

Embark on the greatest adventure of your life – right from your seat. Peaks of Life, a charity partnered with Seattle Children’s Hospital, aims to help children of the Northwest reach their greatest heights by raising funds for uncompensated health care costs. To aid in this mission, Peak of Life is throwing its third annual gala. Throughout the event, professional climbers will “guide you through the world’s greatest mountains and their associated culture [with] virtual reality” while you dine on a delicious four course meal from the Himalayan Sherpa House and enjoy a full bar with complementary beer and wine. What could be better than helping every child have access to healthcare while traveling to some of the most distant landscapes you can imagine through a riveting virtual reality experience?

Seattle Aquarium Adult Swim

Perhaps heights aren’t your thing, but depths are. In that case, the Seattle Aquarium Adult Swim is just for you. Enjoy an after hours, 21+ aquarium experience with a top-shelf bar, countless hors d’oeuvres, and music from KEXP DJ Troy Nelson.

All proceeds go to support Seattle Aquarium’s mission of inspiring conservation of the marine environment.

WCR Crush Fundraiser 2017

Join the Seattle Metro women’s Council of Realtors® as they “crush out homelessness one bottle at a time” by raising funds for Mary’s Place. In order to do so, you’ll be able to enjoy a night filled with live music, wine tasting, a vineyard inspired feast, and of course, both silent and live auctions. In the words of Seattle’s WCR: “Get your credit cards or checkbooks dusted off, purchase your tickets, and help us CRUSH homelessness here in Seattle!”.

Whether you’re a football fan, music lover, mountain climber, seafarer, or just want to have a good time supporting a great cause, there’s a fundraiser for you. More than just helping those who need it most, fundraisers can be ideal places to meet other like-minded individuals who share the same passions and interests as you – something invaluable if you’re new to the area or looking to settle here.
