It’s guaranteed to be money well spent, and we hope that you’ll make it out to support and enjoy this local gem at some point this season. So, without further ado, here are our top three picks for the Seattle Symphony’s Create Your Own Series package:
Holiday Pops
Maybe it’s the cooler weather that has us feeling a bit nostalgic for everyone’s favorite time of year, but we simply couldn’t pass up this concert when we happened upon it in the program for the 2015-2016 season.
Prepare to be charmed into the holiday spirit with this all-new program featuring Broadway star Capathia Jenkins and the renowned Tony DeSare. They’ll be performing the best of your holiday playlist favorites, but the real showstopper is sure to be the Seattle Seahawks’ drumline with their rendition of “Little Bolero Boy”.
The Midtown Men
This high-octane quartet truly is a must-see. The Midtown Men is a group of 4 of the original cast members of Jersey Boys, a musical masterpiece that took Broadway by storm. They’ve been touring the country, performing all of their favorite hits from the 1960’s, and we’re thrilled that they’ve chosen to make our town one of their stops along the way.
In their performance at the Seattle Symphony, you can expect to hear The Midtown Men perform songs by The Beatles, The Rascals, Motown, The Four Seasons, and more.
Carnival of the Animals
Carnival of the Animals is part of the Symphony’s family series, and while this concert was designed specifically for viewers between 6 and 11 years old, it’s a show that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. The Symphony will be joined by the ARC Youth Dance Company in a performance that brings a menagerie of animals to life through a combination of music and dance.
This concert features some of the world’s greatest classics, making it a top choice for our Create Your Own Series lineup.
The Seattle Symphony is one of the many must-try activities in our city. It’s an absolute delight to the senses and a meaningful experience you simply don’t want to miss. So, whether or not you have attended before, we want to encourage you to make it out for a concert or two during the 2015-2016 season.
