As we edge into the middle of our spring real estate market, fears of a potential housing bubble have emerged as mortgage rates and fuel prices have increased and there is a possibility of new legislation that may affect our taxes. Inventory remains historically low which has helped to keep housing prices high over the past month and while this is likely to remain unchanged, higher mortgage rates may produce a slow down if too many buyers are edged out of the market in the coming months. Multiple offers are still the norm for Seattle, as well-paying jobs and the pandemic-driven desire for a lifestyle change continue to motivate both buyers and sellers.
